free -m

Result:        total       used        free      shared  buff/cache   available

Swap:          3947         228        3719


Another useful command:

ps aux

Press Enter,

Will show you hich apps are using the most memory and show you their process IDs.


There are a few common culprits when it comes to high memory usage on Linux.

One of the main offenders is Java.
