Install Windows10 Theme for Debian Linux.

Windows10 Theme is beautiful isn't it? Well, you can make your Debian Linux look just like it.

Of course, you should have matching icons for your Windows10 theme for Debian 8.xx - 10 Buster.

You need to install "Cinnamon" for Debian, it is included in both Debian 9 and 10.


Begin by clicking "Systems Settings Control Center", next Themes, Click Add/Remove, then search for Windows10.

Click the button with arrow pointing down, then click Themes and click Windows-10 and it will be applied.

Next step, right-click start button and configure, remove the text, so that only the Win flag is seen.

Now the theme is applied, it is only the icons left.


To make it as easy as possible, we use the file manager to install the icons and set correct rights.

Start downloading the icons from the Boomerang project website.

Then unpack Windows-10-Icons-master.zip in the Download folder.

You must temporarily change users to "root":

su

Fill in the password for "root", Enter.

Open file manager with the command:

nautilus

Enter,

Browse home / username / Downloads

Right-click the Windows 10-Icons master folder and select Move to:

usr / share / icons

Select the button, click.

Then open the usr / share / icons and right-click on the Windows 10-Icons master, select the rights tab.

Choose your user below:

Owner: Access: Create and delete files

Group: Your User, Access: Access Files

Others: Access: Access files

Close Nautilus, type exit into the termial window and return to your user.

Done ! Your Linux is now an almost perfect copy of the Windows10 look.
