PDFsam - Extract, Rotate And Merge PDF-Files for Debian 11 and LMDE5.

PDFsam v4.3.0 - extract, rotate and merge PDF-files easily with this open-source software, that can split, merge and rotate PDF files.

The latest stable version, 4.3.0, is written in Java, thus PDFsam is cross-platform.

It comes in three versions, only basic is free to use for both home and business.

PDFsam comes in 3 editions: PDFsam Basic = Free, PDFsam Enhenced and PDFsam Visual.

Requirements:

  • PDF Split and Merge Basic Edition
  • OpenJDK Runtime Environment 11.0.1+13
  • Max memory 950 MB

NOTE: PDFsam Basic is free of charge.

  • Merge: Merge together multiple PDF documents or subsections of them.
  • Split: Split a PDF document at the give page numbers.
  • Split by bookmarks: Split a PDF document at bookmarked pages by specifying a bookmark level.
  • Alternative Mix: Merge two documents taking pages alternatively in straight or reverse order.
  • Rotate: Rotate the pages of multiple PDF documents..
  • Extract: Extract pages from a PDF document.
  • Split by Size: Split a PDF document in files of the given size (roughly).

While available in Debians repository and installation is simple, you will be getting an older version.

So first download here.

Unpack the archive in Downloads for example and rename the file pdfsam_4.3.0-1_amd64.deb, You don't need to use the terminal to change the name, just righ-click and click on properties, change name and hit Enter, done.

Next...

Open a terminal window:

cd Downloads

Press Enter,

sudo dpkg - i pdfsam_4.3.0-1_amd64.deb

Press Enter, wait for it to complete, done.
