Spectre & Meltdown Checker for Linux.

Spectre & Meltdown Checker is a shell script for checking if your Linux installation is still vulnerable against the 3 “speculative execution” CVEs that were made public early 2018.

Right click and "Save link as".

Download the shell-script here.

Open a terminal window:

cd Downloads

Press Enter.

chmod +x spectre-meltdown-checker.sh

Press Enter.

Now run the shellscript:

./spectre-meltdown-checker.sh

Press Enter.

Checking for vulnerabilities on current system
Kernel is Linux 5.10.0-15-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.120-1 (2022-06-09) x86_64.

Now I found that my system is still vulnerable to CVE-2018-3640:KO och CVE-2018-3615:KO.

CVE-2018-3640:KO

Systems with microprocessors utilizing speculative execution and that perform speculative reads of system registers may allow unauthorized disclosure of system parameters to an attacker with local user access via a side-channel analysis, aka Rogue System Register Read (RSRE), Variant 3a.

CVE-2018-3615:KO

Systems with microprocessors utilizing speculative execution and Intel software guard extensions (Intel SGX) may allow unauthorized disclosure of information residing in the L1 data cache from an enclave to an attacker with local user access via a side-channel analysis.

I am waiting for an update to the intel-microcode in Debian 11 repository.
