YAGF is a graphical front end shell for the cuneiform and tesseract OCR tool.

With YAGF, you can open already scanned image files or get new images via XSane (scan results are automatically sent to YAGF). When you have a scanned image, you can prepare it for language recognition, select specific image areas, set recognition language and so on. Identified text appears in an edit window where it can be corrected, saved to disk or copied to clipboard.

  • Corrects skew images
  • Removes sound and increases the contrast for poor quality images
  • Recognize text from PDF and DjaVu files
  • Recognizes and reads images that contain text in two different languages

How to install:

Open a terminal window:

sudo apt-get install yagf

Press Enter.
